CommonWhy

Why CommonWhy exists

Society runs on everyday people. AI should too.

AI should learn from the people it will serve.

Our mission

Who AI learns from matters.

If we want AI to work for everyone, it needs to learn how different people think. A beginner and an expert can face the same problem and notice different things. Both have something to teach.

We’re building CommonWhy so people from every background can help shape AI by sharing how they think through the work they already do.

What that means in practice

Real work.
Clear expectations.

The model is straightforward: members contribute their work process, and buyers fund and license collections they can evaluate.

Members bring their own work.

Work they were already going to do, with the right to record and share it. A buyer can specify contributor backgrounds; members still choose the work.

The explanation matters.

We ask why a step made sense, what experience told them, how information was understood and what changed. The next-day recall session adds what people remember after the work is over.

The business is clear.

Members know what is captured, what is paid and how their recordings and résumé will be used. Buyers know what the package contains and what is still in development.

Starting with the first collection.

Our Windows recording prototype works. We are developing the member and delivery service and looking for founding pilot partners to help shape the first paid collections.
